Graduate Certificate in Professional Accountancy
The Graduate Certificate program is geared for those students who have already earned their undergraduate degree. The Tennessee State Board of Accountancy weights graduate courses with a 50% premium, so a 3-hour graduate course counts as 4.5 hours toward your 150-hour requirement. Thus, the student who earns a 132-hour undergraduate degree and the 12-hour Graduate Certificate (which counts as 18-hours for the CPA exam) would have the 150-hours needed to sit for the CPA Exam in Tennessee.
Interested students will complete any 4 of these courses to earn the certificate:
MAcc 6003 Corporate Governance and Internal Control
MAcc 6753 Financial Statement Analysis
MAcc 6203 Advanced Tax
MAcc 6303 Accounting Theory and Research
MAcc 6403 Advanced Accounting
